Lauryn
She is definitely the princess of the house. Her dad makes a beeline for her when he gets home from work and is totally in love with her. She still likes looking around and seems very aware of her surroundings. She likes looking up at the toys in the jungle gym and loves the bouncy seat. Many nights the only way she'll sleep is in the bouncy seat.
She dislikes drinking formula, which pretty much sucks for her. My breast milk supply is quickly dwindling and she won't have a choice in about a week or so. She can be tough to go to sleep, but she can also sleep the longest through the night sometimes. And for as content as she is most of the time, she's not much of a smiler. She smiles, but they are rare.
Lauryn is bustin' out of 0-3 Month clothes. The outfit she has on is 0-3 Months and it's pretty snug. Most of her jammies are 3-6 Month.
Peyton
He still dislikes lots of things. Bathtimes are a joke. He doesn't enjoy them one bit. I feel bad for him really. During bathtime, his cries are bloodcurdling screams. It sounds like someone is hurting him, and all it is is a little water. I try to finish up as fast as possible.
Peytie is still fitting nicely in 0-3 Month clothes.
Baby Milestones
According to the CDC, these are the milestones that should be reached by two months of age:Social and Emotional
Begins to smile at people
Can briefly calm himself (may bring hands to mouth and suck on hand)
Tries to look at parent
Language/Communication
Coos, makes gurgling sounds
Turns head toward sounds
Baby raising head and chest when lying on stomach
Cognitive (learning, thinking, problem-solving)
Pays attention to faces
Begins to follow things with eyes and recognize people at a distance
Begins to act bored (cries, fussy) if activity doesn’t change
Movement/Physical Development
Can hold head up and begins to push up when lying on tummy
Makes smoother movements with arms and legs
Both babies meet all the milestones, with the exception if the cooing. They make noises, but it's not really coos. It's more gurgling, so I guess it still counts. So far, so good babies! The CDC only releases the milestones as they coincide with doctor appointments, so the next one is at 4 months. Hopefully they continue to meet their age appropriate milestones. We'll check back in next month!
